Case Study:

Willand Engineering completed a stainless process pipework project for a manufacturing site in Merseyside, providing a full site survey, measure, prefabrication and installation package.

The works were planned around a strict 4 hour site installation window, meaning accuracy at survey and fabrication stage was critical.

Following the site survey, the pipework was measured, planned and prefabricated in our workshop, including stainless pipe runs, valve assemblies, flanged connections and welded sections. The completed pipework was then delivered to site and installed within the agreed window as a first-time fit solution.

This approach reduced disruption to production, minimised hot works and site labour, and allowed the majority of fabrication and quality control to be completed off site in a controlled workshop environment.

Our scope included:

Site survey and measurement.
Pipework layout planning.
Off-site prefabrication.
Stainless process pipework manufacture.
Coded welding.
Valve and flange assemblies.
4-hour site installation window.
First time fit solution.
QA support.

By prefabricating the pipework before installation, we helped the customer reduce downtime while maintaining a high standard of weld quality, accuracy and stainless finish.
