Case Study:

A client required a complete strip-out and replacement of an ageing pump system, upgrading to a modern high-efficiency duty/standby arrangement. The installation needed to be completed within a tight planned outage window with minimal disruption to operations.

The existing system had reached the end of its serviceable life, with corroded pipework and ageing pumps presenting both reliability and efficiency concerns. The client needed a complete solution. From survey and design through to fabrication and installation, delivered within a fixed outage period.

Following a detailed site survey, our team measured and prefabricated the new stainless steel pipework in our Halifax workshop ahead of the outage. This meant that when the window opened, the installation could move quickly and efficiently without delays on site.

Works included full removal of the existing pumps and corroded pipework, installation of the new duty/standby pump system, new valves, pressure gauges and instrumentation, and all final connections completed within the agreed outage. All stainless steel pipework was fully purge welded by our coded welders throughout.

The new system offers improved reliability and operational resilience through standby capability, with the potential for approximately 10–30% lower energy consumption than the previous installation depending on operating demand and system control. The project was handed back on time, ready for immediate operation.
